Rewatching Fury Road, I realized that Furiosa's War Rig is a Tatra

Spoiler Warning:

Near the end of the movie, when Nux flips the War Rig to seal the gap, the underside has the distinctive Tatra backbone drivetrain, which I thought was weird, so I looked it up:

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Sure enough, that’s accurate. They modified an honest to God Tatra for the movie. I didn’t think I could love that movie anymore than I already did, but a legit Tatra 6 x 6 as their big rig is all the right kinds of awesome.

Really? It came out like three or four years ago. Way better than it had any right to be. Good on a second or third watching as well.

Any movie that includes people making repairs while the truck is moving is a good movie. I think about that scene every time I remove my soft doors while driving.

It wasn’t entirely what I was expecting. I need to watch it again to confirm or change my view of the film.

The practical effects and vehicles are worth watching for the sheer spectacle. Those aspects alone make it a masterpiece.

I know it has cars in the desert and a guy spray paints his teeth. There is probably more dialogue.

The best part of that scene is I spent most of it thinking “where the fuck is Nux? Why isn’t he helping fight off the baddies?” Then you realize he's been under the hood fixing the engine. Slow clap.
